Our sheriff

Dennis Switzer has been a professional law enforcement Officer for over 30 years.  Dennis started his law enforcement career in the United States Air Force where he served as a law enforcement specialist.  Dennis graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Training in 1998 and began working with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy.  Dennis was promoted to Sergeant in 2008, and then promoted to Captain in 2015. Dennis has over 2000 hours of law enforcement training and has been serving as the current Grant County Sheriff since his appointment in January 2025.

Dennis is a lifelong Grant County resident.  He and his wife Tameca have three children, Trezdon, Zayden and Rylan.  Dennis and his family attends Antioch Church where he serves as President of the Cemetery Board.
