Property tax bills are generated from the Grant County PVA’s office.
The bills are mailed out and ready for viewing on October 1st of every tax year.

*In Grant County, you can pay your property tax bills from October 1st until April 15th.

2% Discount October 1st – November 1st

Face Value November 2nd – December 31st

5% Penalty January 1st – January 31st

21 % Penalty February 1st – April 15th

Overview

During the month of October, the Grant County Sheriff’s office is open on Saturday’s, 8am until noon. Residents can pay their property tax bills in our office with cash, check or use a debit/credit card. Paying online is also an available option, as well as mailing in the payment with the tax statement. If you are mailing in your payment and would like a receipt mailed back to you, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. You can also wait until your payment has been processed to view and print the paid statement from our website.

Questions?

If you have questions regarding delinquent tax bills, you will need to contact the Grant County Clerk at (859) 824-3321. In our office we only deal with Current Year Property Taxes. We DO NOT collect any type of City taxes. If you have questions regarding City taxes, you will need to contact that City Directly.

Previous Tax Years

On our website, you can view 5 years of property taxes. If a bill was paid in our office, the statement will reflect such. If the bill was paid after it went delinquent that tax year, the payment will not reflect on our website.

Frequently Asked Tax Questions

What are the office hours during Tax season?

We are open Monday thru Friday 8am until 4pm. During the month of October, the office is open on Saturday’s 8am until Noon.

Why is my tax bill listed in the previous owner’s name?

Tax bills are issued to the listed property owner as January 1st of the tax year.  If the previous owner receives the bill, they should forward the bill to the new owner.  The Sheriff’s Office does not have access to the new deed transfers.

Am I able to make a partial payment on my property tax bill?

No. The bill is to be paid in full.

Who do I need to contact if I am disabled or need a homestead exemption on my Property?

You will need to contact Grant County PVA at (859)824-6511, to get information on as well as apply for either exemption.

Can I pay my property tax bill using a credit card?

Yes. However, the credit card company does charge a minimal fee.
